Installation tips:

  • It is very important to ensure the shield is sealed around the edges and flush at the bottom before you drill into the deck.  Once you have accomplished this, try using one of the following tips to keep it in place.
     
  • Use a “C” clamp when possible to hold the chute in place while installing
     
  • If you cannot use a “C” clamp, use a ratchet strap and attach it to the front and rear caster wheels to hold the chute in place.
     
  • These are not requirements for installation, just suggestions that will make sure the chute is installed properly with ease.

    Nice unit. The spring doesn't secure very well looks haphazard. It looks like it could pop off and maybe hit you or something else so I took it off. Other than that I'm real happy with it. Our house has 5000 sq ft of mulch beds and the chute keeps grass out of them. Also don't have to worry about a rock hitting our daylight basement windows, which are just above ground level. I give it 4.5 stars only because the spring which doesn't fit or secure very well.
